Cars the chicks will dig

It’s a killer question that has been puzzling blokes for decades. No, not who is the hottest Playboy bunny of all time, but rather which car’s best when it comes to impressing the ladies?

You may have to speculate to accumulate, although for the best car insurance for young drivers moneysupermarket could save you a small fortune – which is just as well, because you may well have to part with a pretty penny to get that knockout set of wheels.

Italian men are renowned for their pulling power, so perhaps the best starting point is to get behind the wheel of an iconic motor from the boot-shaped country. There are plenty to choose from. Take from your pick from a Ferrari, Lamborghini or Maserati. All are in a league of their own and would make sure you stand out from the rest.

When it comes to pure sex appeal, though, you’ll be hard pushed to beat the Ferrari 360 Modena. In racing red, of course. It’s the only colour a Ferrari should be made in. These babies will go from nought to 60mph (100km/h) in just over four seconds – although it might be worth driving slightly slower if you want people to actually see you. The Modena oozes class. Hayden Christensen, of Star Wars fame, is one of the many celebrities to own one, and the force could be with you when it comes to the opposite sex if you’re spotted on the road in one.

There are definite similarities between the original Knight Rider car and the Maserati Gran Turismo in black, and it was a look that transformed David Hasslehoff into a worldwide celebrity. Quite why women swooned over the Hoff back then and even to this very day is beyond us. What is not in any doubt is the fact that the Gran Turismo is easy on the eye, just as you’ll hope to be.

Housewives’ favourite, Simon Cowell, has never been short of attention from the fairer sex. The music mogul’s expansive car collection includes a Bentley Continental, Bugatti Veyron and Rolls Royce, proving that his ability to spot talent extends a little further than simply unearthing Susan Boyle.

You don’t have to break the bank, of course. Not everyone is passionate about super cars. The old-fashioned Mini Cooper, as seen in the Italian Job, is pretty stylish if restored to its full glory. A low centre of gravity adds extra wow factor when you unleash it on the open road.

Vintage cars also have a certain je ne sais quoi. Take a classic Cadillac, for instance. Or perhaps even an old-school TVR, with more curves than a Brazilian supermodel. And if you fancy two wheels instead of four, perhaps a Harley Davidson would be more up your street.
