Reflections on December 2008

December was an OK month. Considering the last week I made no posts whatsoever, things are “OK”

However, I failed miserably in reaching my goals. I set myself a target of 5,000 unique views. My Google Analytics are showing a total number of 3,628 Absolute Unique Visitors. That is a total of 1,372 short.

Hopefully the drop off was due to the lack of posts towards the end of the month. But, in saying that December 31, New Years Eve was one of the busiest days for the site hitting 254 Absolute Unique Visitors. Go figure?!? Did I just say “Go Figure”?

Some of the busiest pages on the blog for December were:
16 Awesome Screensavers - Again, ranked number 1 for another month. The page gets a lot of visitors who are coming from StumbleUpon and it’s linked to from many pages across the web.
The Dark Knight Riddler Poster - This fan created poster has sparked a bit of interest and the rumors of Eddie Murphy to play The Riddler bought more visitors to the blog. All of this Riddler stuff is fake…..sigh.
Britneys Nip Slip in Womanizer - Yes, Britney’s little flash in the womanizer video is bringing me a heap of visitors. Most find it from a Google search.
420 Things To Do When You are Stoned - A stoners favorite page.
Dark Knight Wallpapers - More Dark Knight fans. Hey, I’m a Dark Knight fan, so its all good!!

Goals for January 2009?

Well, shall I say the 5,000 Absolute Unique Visitors again? That seems to be a realistic target. Let’s see how I go.

Im Back!

There is a reason for the lack of posts over the Christmas / New Year period. I was away! Yes, I took some well deserved time out and headed to the coast for about 10 days of rest.

Whilst I was away, I thought a lot about Dude World Order and the path it was heading. I sit at my desk wondering what I should blog about every day. I go to bed wondering what I should blog about.

You see, the name “Dude World Order” is actually about me. (If that’s the best way to put it.) All of my friends call me Dude. It’s something that has been a part of my life for a long time now. When I first started this blog I wanted it to be about the cool stuff that I find on the internet and how I want to share it with the world. But I started to get lazy and I have started posting a lot of crap. Crap that I’m not really proud of. For example, the nude pics of Carmen Electra. Why did I post that? I posted that to get a whole heap of hits and to make myself feel better about the number of people coming to my blog.
I have a daughter, and if this blog really becomes something I want her to be proud of her old man. My wife wouldn’t appreciate it either. Heck, I don’t appreciate it.

So, welcome to 2009. A new Dude World Order. More interesting stuff about the internet, more cool downloads, more of me and being true to me.

I appreciate my supporters and here’s to a better 2009!

Looking Back at November

You know, Dude World Order has had a turbulent life so far. This blog, my blog, originally started in July 2008 and it had a flying start. People loved the site. Women would send nude photos of themselves to me which resulted in a lot of “self love”.
Well, none of that is really true. The site did take off though and the subscriber and visiotr numbers grew at a healthy pace. Then, I let the blog die. I started working on other things and simply found no time for DWO.
As November rolled around I tried to resurrect the blog, only to fail. I was importing some old posts and CRASH. The site died.
So, I had to start fresh. Dude World Order had its first official post on November 27. After a some initial teething problems, the site returned to its former glory.

Part of my plan is to share with you how the site performs. Let’s have a look at the short period of November….

Posts made: 9
Unique Visitors: 121

Not bad considering the site has only back up for 3 days.

Bring on December!! I’m going to set a high target of unique visitors, even though we are heading into the Christmas period and internet usage will probably drop off on the 25th and 31st.
TARGET: 5,000 unique.
I think this can be achieved considering the site was getting about 1,000 a day just a few months back.

Anyway, wish me luck!

OH SHIT! I Have Fucked Up!

Thinking that I was some sort of guru when it came to Wordpress, I now realise that I am not.

In an effort to rebuild, fix, upgrade the blog I have totally fucked it up. Everything has been lost. I do have some of the previous posts saved on my hard drive, but I will have to upload them manually.

Im such an idiot!!

And to top it off, I was a prick to my sister when she called to tell me there was a problem. So, in front of the world and on the web, I apologise. Sorry sis. Still love me?
