Free Music From Trent Reznor
-
When it comes to free music, Trent Reznor is king. In May of 2008, he released Nine Inch Nails newest album, The Slip, as a free download from the Nine Inch Nails website. This was a brilliant marketing move. Not only did the site clock up over 1.4 million individual downloads but it introduced Nine Inch Nails to a new audience who would previously not have purchased a Nine Inch Nails CD. The Slip has since seen physical release on both CD and as a Limited Edition set of 250,000, which Reznor has been photographed owning copies 1 and 250,000.On March 20th, Reznor’s new website NIN|JA 2009 went live. At the NIN|JA site you can download the new NINJA 2009 Tour Sampler including new music from Nine Inch Nails, Jane’s Addiction, and Street Sweeper. Street Sweeper is a new project featuring Tom Morello of Rage Against The Machine and The Nightwatchman and Boots Riley of The Coup.
Some of the new NIN songs included are the long awaited studio recordings of “Not So Pretty Now” and “Non-Entity.”
